This topic as the antithesis of last week's topic Is This Innovative Enough?

Let's discuss the objective aspects of the importance of being innovative as a contrast to the subjective issues.Surely the main objective is to satisfy needs (or desires) as effectively as possible? As a customer, those might be your personal needs or those of your organization. As vendor, those might be your customer's needs or your own organization's needs.

If what you do or produce is innovative, then so much the better. But who cares? Let's discuss that!

Maybe you think that it depends on whether or not opportunities for innovative solutions are available and on what scale.

Maybe you think that it depends on whether or not available opportunities are taken.

Maybe you think that it depends on whether available opportunities, which are taken, are taken at the right time or in the right way.

All of these and more issues are up for discussion during a free ranging (without formal question) #innochat on Twitter for an hour starting at 12noon Eastern time, on November 10, 2016.
